When Republicans are the Majority Party ...

Why is it when Republicans are the majority party there is a call for them to work with the Democrats, almost give in, but when the Democrats are in the majority they are somehow given a mandate to do the people's work.  Is this the truth or does it just seem that way?
The people of Wisconsin elected republicans into the majority and they are now doing the people's will.  It is too bad more people who support their elected officials are not out showing their support but  the elections proves the will of the people more than any protest or anti-protest.
Times are difficult for most people but it is refreshing to see a government official, Govenor of WI, who is willing to cut spending instead of increasing taxes. There is one fact we all know, Dems., Reps. and Independents, there is plenty of waste, over spending and room for cuts in government spending. A fact the current US House, US Senate and President need to be aware of, if they are not already...
And while we are talking about the senate, the Wisconsin Senate Democrats need to get their sorry butts back to work and stop acting like spoiled brats. The people of Wis. elected them to do a job not to run and hide.

Call it what you will, it's not marriage.

If  a man and a woman love each other and want to live their lives together they get married. If you have two people of the same sex and for, whatever reason, want to live their lives together that is not marriage, call it what you want, a civil union or whatever but it does not fit the original definition of marriage. To call it marriage is like calling the color green, yellow because, that is what you want it to be, even though it is still yellow. This is not a comment on gay people, straight people or those in between.
The words from the Bible say, a man and a woman leave their family and cling to each other. The meaning of marriage  from the Bible  is much older than  from the new versions of some dictionaries.

There are different views on the subjects  of being gay, straight and those that were gay and turned straight. So it is not an easy subject and I don't claim to have all the answers. Waltz Disney may have some answers, they have recently been sued by the parents of a gay person who turned straight and wanted WD to provide sensitivity training for their employees on how to deal with people who were once gay and turned straight. It is a strange world out there so lets not change the meaning of words just because we want them  to be different. Make up new words for new things,  don't  change the meaning of what already exist in order to fit into some notion you have of the way you want things to be.

President Obama "Declares" Law Unconstitutional! Not So Fast...

Not so fast you are not a King
After  a very sad statement made by the White House yesterday, one is left asking, who or what does the President think he really is? The President doesn't get to decide what laws are constitutional and which are not. He doesn't get to make or change the definition of words either.
By the way, the definition of marriage is the union of a man and a woman. : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law.
If you are someone you know is gay that is your business but it doesn't give anyone the right to change the definition of words.  If  you believe laws  needs to be changed there are avenues and processes to follow, not just declare the current law is unconstitutional.
The current President has taken it upon himself to declare the current law unconstitutional and have the justice department stop defending the law in court. President Bill Clinton signed DOMA into law in 1996. It is still a constitutional law and the President took an oath to uphold the constitution.

If you agree or disagree with this law it is still a law, I ask the President to follow  and enforce the laws.

President Obama You Are Not a King and Have Laws to Follow, Like It Or Not

In a rare move today the Obama Administration said the government will no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act. The Attornety General said, King Obmam, I mean President Obama,  decided the federal government will no longer defend the federal law that defines marriage between a man and a woman.
"Mr." President Obama we are a country of laws and you do not get to decide what laws are constitutional and which are not. You took an oath to uphold the laws of the United States. I have one thing to say to you, if you can't uphold the laws of our country get out and take whatever crown you think you have with you.
In my opinion you are becoming a disgrace to the United States of America. We don't allow dictators to rule our country, so stop acting like you have some special powers that put you and your wishes above the law.  It doesn't matter if you like or dislike a law you are under oath to enforce them. It is too bad so many people were deceived by you into thinking you were the change this country needed. You are a change but  we are not changing to a dictatorship with one all  powerful ruler.  No, that is not how this country operates.

Keep the Union Power and Lay Off 10- 12,000 Workers?

Governor Scott Walker, the unions are pushing hard, pushing hard to keep themselves alive. It is not about the children or even the teachers. It's now about the unions. Oh yes, and the budget!
Wisconsin is having a huge budget problem, in order to the fix the problem, a problem he was elected to fix, the governor is trying to cut back the extras the teachers are receiving. He is not calling for cuts so deep that it would bring the government workers down to the level of the private workers. The unions with their power are costing the states money they need to balance their budgets. They want to cut  collective bargaining on the "extras" not salaries. So, it is not as bad as union signs and chants make it sound. Unions are upset, for a number of reasons,  Wisconsin decided to stop collecting the dues paid by city workers to the unions. (I am not sure why they ever decided to do this in the first place.) They also decided not to force teachers into the union if they don't want to be part, now that sounds like America to me.
After all of this, the unions and some teachers still don't want to "give in."  I guess they would rather 10,000 to 12,000 teachers loose their jobs and they can hold on to their powerful union.............. I wonder if all the teachers agree with this path the unions are forcing the government down?

Embarrassing to be a Democrat. State Senators Threw a Tantrum

The Democrats in the Wisconsin state senate fled the state.. (it's not a good day to be a Democrat when your elected Senators run  to and hide in another state to avoid a vote.)
The Wisconsin Senate convened for a short time on Friday  to find the Democrats. The governor  was asked to send state police  to find the minority leader, Mr. Miller. The Wisconsin State Patrol was sent to find the missing  state senator. Senate rules, as well as the state constitution states absent members can be compelled to appear.
While hiding Senator Mark Miller spoke to a morning show saying,"We left the state so we were out of the reach of the Wisconsin State patrol which has the authority to round  us up and bring us back to the legislature," Sounds like somebody knew they weren't going to  "get their way" and decided to throw a tantrum.
I say it is time now to wipe the tears and get back to work, after all the governor is only doing what he was elected to do and although there are protestors there are a lot of other citizens that voted  to have a strong leader  make the hard choices. Not that this is a very hard choice since the teachers will not be giving up that much. If the truth be know this is more about Unions not liking the fact the new bill will not force state workers into a union, they will now have a choice.
Wisconsin teachers made a mockery of the teaching profession by not teaching their students after a ill fated call by Mary Bell, head of the teachers UNION, to come to Madison...
It should also be noted that the teachers union is still in a battle with the state over no cost, Viagra.

State Workers Need Benefits More in Line With Private Sector

$3.66 Billion budget shortfall in Wisconsin.  Gov. Scott Walker, who was elected  on promises to cut spending is asking public employees to pay a small part of   their health care ( about 12.5 %) and make  partial payments to their own pension plan. The projected saving would be around $300 million in the next 2 years. His plan made it to the State Senate while  demonstrations were taking place at the Capital. Before any votes could be taken Senate Democrats  fled the state, in what could be called,  a cut and run move.

Unions  are in  part to blame for the state budget crisis by negotiating lavish benefit packages for public workers that have forced states to slash aid to schools, social services and important services. Wisconsin wants to limit unions to bargaining for salaries.

Ohio, Tennessee,  Indiana, Nevada and Florida are also looking for cuts that need to made.

Wisconsin, Where Have Your State Senators Gone???

Wisconsin Democrat Senators, Run and Hide!!!!

Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker is looking for 14 state Democrat senators. The Governor  said  all 14 senators got on a bus and left the state and are believed to be "hiding out" in Illinois. They do not want to vote on the Governor's budget bill. Governor Walker stated, his budget will save, between 10,000 and 12,000, government jobs.  The bill will make state employee pay about 12% toward their health insurance and  contribute a small percentage, about 5.5% to their own  pension plan.
As I write this I, not the governor,am not sure if these senators are stupid or chicken, too chicken to do what they were elected to do. At least show up to work, I hope they have their salaries cut for the time they miss...

President Obama Unleashes His Budget...$15 trillion in debt

Monday, President Obama presented his 2012 budget! A budget that "unleashes " the largest 1-year debt hike in history...by the end of the fiscal year the debt will be over $15 trillion.
Amid the increase spending  is a 10% increase in IRS spending for over 5000 new IRS agents, a 15 cent tax hike on gas and a reversal of parts of the bill the president signed recently, continuing the "Bush Tax cuts."
At the present time the government is borrowing about 42 cents of every dollar it is spending. President Obama, you are the president STOP spending money we don't have!!! Mr. President do you understand what spending money you don't have is doing to this country? At the current record debt level for each interest point increase, the government will have to pay an EXTRA $140 billion...... per year.

Muslim BROTHERHOOD background...

In 1928 the Muslim Brotherhood was formed by a 22 year old school teacher, HASAN AL-Banna. Muslim Brotherhood was started as an Islamic revivalist movement following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and  ban of the caliphate system of government which had united the Muslims for hundreds of years. Based on the idea, Islam was not just a religious observance, but a total way  of life, on the tenets of Wahhabism,  known today as "Islamism." Al-Banna supplemented the traditional Islamic education for the Society's male students with jihadia training.

The Brotherhood grew over the next 20 years,  not only as a religion and education, but also political party,  the Party of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hizb Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimoon. It blamed the Egyptian government for being passive against "Zionists" and joined the Palestinian side in the war against Israel  and started committing terrorist acts inside of Egypt, which led to a ban on the movement by the Egyptian government. A Muslim Brother assassinated the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi, on December 28, 1948. Al-Banna, the founder  was killed by government agents in Cairo in February, 1949.

The Egyptian government legalized the Brotherhood again in 1948, but only as a religious organization; it was banned again in 1954 because it insisted that Egypt be governed under shari'a (Islamic law).

Abdul Munim Abdul Rauf, a Brotherhood activist, attempted to assassinate Egyptian President Nasser in 1954 and was executed, along with five other Brothers. Four thousand Brothers were also arrested, and thousands more fled to Syria, Saudia Arabia, Jordan, and Lebanon.

In 1964, Nasser granted amnesty to the imprisoned Brothers, hoping that their release would weaken interest in the recently formed Arab Socialist Union party; the result was three more assassination attempts by the Brothers on Nasser's life. The top leaders of the Brotherhood were executed in 1966, and many others were imprisoned.

Nasser's successor, Anwar-as-Sadat, promised the Brothers that shari'a would be implemented as the Egyptian law and released all of the Brotherhood prisoners; however, the Brothers lost their trust in Sadat when he signed the peace agreement with Israel in 1979; four Brothers assassinated Sadat in September, 1981.

Officially banned by the Egyptian government since 1954, the Muslim Brothers captured 17 seats in the Egyptian Parliament running as independents; they also hold important offices in professional organizations in Egypt.

Today, a very complex financial network connects the operations of over seventy branches of the Muslim Brothers worldwide. During the Muslim Brothers' seventy-plus years of existence, there have been cycles of growth, followed by divisions into factions, including clandestine financial networks, and violent jihad groups, such as al-Jihad and al-Gama'at al-Islamiyya in Egypt, HAMAS in Palestine and mujahideen groups in Afghanistan.

Are they still violent? The leaders renounce violence, at least publicly. The Brotherhood says its call to jihad is spiritual, and that it believes in advancing Islam through politics and teaching. This is hardly a separation of "church and state." It is unclear what their intension are but experts are divided on whether the Brotherhood’s new, more moderate line marks a real change or a ruse. “It would be delusory to take the Muslim Brotherhood’s democratic protestations at face value,” says Leslie Gelb, a former president of the Council on Foreign Relations. “No one really has any sound idea of how they might rule.’’  There are some who believe the Brotherhood is watching and waiting for their turn to pounce. The WORLD'S LARGEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL  ISLAMIST MOVEMENT GROUP had better be watched and watched closely.Their charter states," must be fully prepared to fight the tyrants and the enemies of Allah as a prelude to establishing an Islamic State....

Mubarak Steps Down Turns Power Over to the Military

History was made today at apprx. 11:05 est. The vice president of Egypt announced, to a very large crowd, over 200,000,  President Mubarrk has stepped down. The crowd was heard over a news  reporter as he gave a live interview to a news group in the US. almost 1/2 miles away.
It  appears the military will  now be in charge, a military group seems to be the ruling power in Egypt.
Joyful celebration is happening  by the people in Egypt, not violence!
